MEET EMMA GRACE

Hey y’all! My name is Emma Grace and I’m an artist and student living in Austin, TX. I’ve always said art is my letter to the world—but more recently, I’ve come to see it as my way of celebrating the moments, places, and people that shape it.
A sense of place is something I find deeply worthy of highlighting—of shining light on and bringing color to. I grew up in the Carolinas and earned my BA in Studio Art there, graduating with honors. I was born in London and now study architecture in Texas. The intersection of all these places and experiences shape who I am and how I create.
My earliest memories involve creating. Whether painting at my designated craft table (to avoid getting any mess on my mother’s beautifully curated home) or composing scenes with my toys and photographing them with my digital camera, I was always imagining – always processing the world around me.
In middle school I found myself sketching floor plans and urban landscapes in the margins of my notebooks. By high school, I was collecting vintage postcards from my travels with my family and filling sketchbooks with colorful interpretations of the surrounding environment.
Travel has and continues to expand my perspective and creative inspiration, but I’m always finding myself pulled back to the smell of magnolias blooming in Winston Salem or the Carolina blue sky reflected in the buildings’ glazing. My new home in Texas provides a similar sense of warmth and nostalgia. The patterns I find in urban facades, the excitement of western culture, and the meeting of hillsides with orthogonal architecture all provide endless inspiration that grounds my work.
My work uses vibrant color and often architectural composition to capture nostalgic moments and meaningful places. Through experimental layering and pattern, I transport viewers into scenes that are deeply personal yet universally resonant.
